okay here’s why i can generalize bronies:
- they stole a children’s show
- a bunch of GROWN MEN stole from LITTLE GIRLS
- this show is meant for little girls. I repeat. IT IS INTENDED FOR THE VIEWING AUDIENCE OF YOUNG GIRLS.
- that being said, it’s not bad if a little boy wants to…
I stole nothing, I just also enjoy it
the writers fucking love us
we made the show successful when it was originally gonna flop like every other cartoon of its kind
we turned a marketing ploy into something that is changing lives (there are those in the brony community that have connected with things the writers have done, groups who have raised INSANE amounts of money, and others who have found reason to keep going through the friendships they’ve made in this fandom)
You can’t generalized a group because you don’t get it. I don’t like homestuck. or Attack on Titan. I don’t say “all of the fans are asshats”. or “they all suck as cosplaying” or whatever general term you can find.. and I don’t blame them for stealing shit you can’t steal. We didn’t take over the show.
If anything, the show’s creators noticed us and stole US. they wrote a song for the community (fully voiced by the actors on the show), they’ve gotten into the community, they’ve encouraged and supported the creative works that come out of the group. Hasbro has embraced us as the reason they’re making so much money off of this. At PonyCon, the first year aft MLP:FiM came out, in their national headquarters, answered fan questions and were enthusiastic and wonderful. They understood it reached people they hadn’t intended.
And know what? even if it is intended for kids? MOST cartoons go over their heads a bit so their PARENTS who are likely STUCK WATCHING with them can ENJOY it. Freakazoid was meant for kids. But it has SOOOOOOO many cultural references I never got as a child. There was an episode about things that hadn’t been in Disney Land for 10 years or more. ONLY adults would’ve gotten about 80% of that episode. My MOM was a bigger fan than we were. Same with Animaniacs. Even if the intended audience isn’t the biggest one, it doesn’t change the fact yes. they made it for little girls.
HEAVEN FORBID a bunch of GROWN MEN appreciate LOYALTY, GENEROSITY, HAPPINESS, FRIENDSHIP, and GOOD MORALS. Heaven forbid we are moved by songs that hit us where we aren’t socially ALLOWED to be hit.
HEAVEN FORBID men find a way to connect to their emotional side, which society has told them they need to shut up. And we didn’t just do that. We did it together, without fear of the other guys (or girls) thinking we were weird. We EMBRACED this side of us and said “it isn’t WRONG to feel. It isn’t WRONG to be weak. There is STRENGTH in weakness, in kindness, in self-sacrifice. It is STRONG to give and let people take from you. You don’t have to be angry, or strong, or violent to be a man.”
So… generalize bronies as what they are.. a diverse group of emotionally empowered men.
I know a lot of people will say “oh white male privilege” and claim no man is ever put down.
How many times, honestly, have you seen the media encourage men to cry? To sing silly songs? To hug another guy because he’s happy? It’s always “put on a strong face” “be a man” “grow up”. There are a lot of guys who, because of this show and the community, have found that they don’t have to become hardened and angry. They don’t have to suffer emotionally out of fear of being called a wimp or a little girl… instead, they watch a LITTLE GIRL show and feel like MEN. Because emotions are PART of every human being. We’re just now finding this as a way to accept that.
Love and Tolerate everyone. There are bad bronies out there, but most of us are people who felt alone, felt depressed, and felt outcast and could never say anything about it. MLP gave those bronies a voice and a connection to others (gave people with social anxieties and social fears and way to feel comfortable in groups!)
So why WHY hate on the group? That’s completely opposite of the point.
And if you don’t see the value of the show you probably haven’t given it a chance, or maybe it’s not for you, who knows. But regardless. I’m not going to hate you for what you enjoy watching. Don’t hate other people because of what they watch. And DON’T judge the entire group by what a few assholes do. That is unfair and twists the majority to a SEVERE minority’s viewpoint.
Watch the guys from Bronies React and how they responded to the “assholes” who complained about shit (like you mentioned with merchandise). They are the majority of the community.. who go “dude… relax. it’s a tv show.” (or the one who just screamed “ITS A SHOW ABOUT MULTICOLORED HORSES. CALM THE FUCK DOWN”)
u.u okay. my rant is done.
Have a nice day every pony~
PS: I have never met a human being who has actually masturbated (clopped) to the ponies. EVER. So that’s a straight lie. Not all bronies do creepy shit.
